I’d have to say a song that has meaning to you, something very sincere. because then you can express yourself more easily through the music. People can relate to something that is more heart fiilled. not to say you wont pick something. I’m just expressing my experiences with performing. whether it be for a huge audience or with just loved ones.

oh use something with words that speak to you. i dont know what your relationship was like. but something that reflects it. maybe a start.. i dunno. i feel like i might not even know what i’m talking about. i’m not a very good singer. nor have i done something quite courageous as singing a song for someone i ahve lost.

Good, I’m glad :) It’s a wonderful song. The one by Hanson I played (not sang) at my daughter’s funeral. It was actually written in memory of their grandmother.

I’m not sure if he’d want you to use any of his songs, cause hes a budding artist, but his music is beautiful and i know one of them is about a death of a close friend or relative…
