Percentages are based on hundredths. Convert it to hundredths first, then divide that fraction by the highest common denominator to get the simplest fraction. Like this.
50% = 50/100
The highest common dominator of the numbers 50 and 100 (the highest number that will divide into them and result in a whole number) is 50.
50 divided by 50 = 1
100 divided by 50 = 2
So 50% = 1/2
That’s the simplest example.

25% = 25/100

100/25 = 4

so 25% = 1/4
