Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Well, you could trying something to keep your mind off of it…a hobby maybe…
Did you try rehab?
wow, I knew a girl named Gab once. I hope you aren’t her. Gab Stern? I hope that’s not you. Anyway, join a support group, get some patches and gum, and just buckle down, girl, or guy…gab is kinda a unisex name.
i’m too poor for professionals… i mean i count pennies for a pack of cigarettes.
im a girl… lol. gabriella but everyone calls me gab.
i tried patches once and they broke my skin out.
for me its not even the nicotine i don’t think… its the triggers of everything that make me want to smoke.
like using the phone, the internet, brainstorming for my projects, i always have to smoke…
i went cold turkey for about a month and then my boyfriend and i broke up and there it was again. its like a comfort to me - both my parents always smoked and now that i am on my own its like… a strange connection. i don’t know.
i tried patches and that sucked.
and then i tried a licorice root - which is the same size and shape of a cigarette and it kind of makes your lips numb - it takes the place of needing something in your mouth or hand. but - i just don’t like licorice.
oh well. thank you for responding but now that i am sitting here typing all of this - the only real way to make this happen is just to get serious with myself and quit making excuses and just f***ing do it!
Again, lots of ppl were able to quit smoking, because they could find something to keep their minds and bodies from it…
Maybe you should try doing some kind of sport, running, going to the gym, martial arts, soccer, I dunno…
good idea…
being more active would help alot.
i forgot to mention that my doctor is the one who told me i have to quit smoking now or there will be problems.
apparently my sternum is calicifying - the soft cartilage is becoming bone. he said exercise, stop smoking and take lots of calcium.
so yes… you are right. activity will do me wonders i am sure…
i just wish i liked sports! lol
thank you again.
Hmm. If the licorice root was working but for the taste…try candy cigarettes, perhaps? Same size and shape as cigarettes, and no nasty flavor (I’m not a big fan of that stuff either).
And hey, activity doesn’t have to be sports. Something to keep your hands busy would probably be best- harder to slip up and smoke unconsciously. Are you artistic at all? Most crafts would probably be good for this.
