How can I attract the attention of a boy I’ve only talked to once?

We don’t know eachother to well, but one of my friends (that currently moved away) is one of his friends aswell, and thats generaly how we know eachother. We’re in none of the same classes, and I tend to be very shy when it comes to meeting new people, which isn’t helping me at all. It’s not like he dosen’t know I igsist, I’ve caught him staring at me (I’m constantly looking at him out of habit) I want to know some good, subtle, conversation starters or ways to show my affection to him in a not-so-creepy manner…help?
