Hi helpers, I have windows XP home Edition and All my programs are not working, even when I try to download like anti virus It can’t open the file.

So My question is simple, If I upgrade my computer from Home Edition to Professional or Just upgrade it again to Home Edition, Does this means all my programs will be deleted and it will work again.

You should not lose your programs if you upgrade to pro. You can also reinstall home if it needs to be repaired if you have the disk, and you will not lose all of your programs. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks, I’m going to reinstall Home Edition. What I wanted to know was ::: My programs don’t work and I want them all to be deleted, so does this means when i’m logging in, it will be empty and I can start downloading all the programs all over again?

If you want to do a clean install, just put the cd in and follow the instructions then when asked you want to do a new install. This will wipe out your hdd and install new xp then you can install what ever programs that you want. Make sure that you update it right away before you start surfing the internet. Hope this helps :-)

Sorry, but this mightn’t work, you see if it is a RAM problem or virus it mightn’t fix it.

I don’t think it’s virus, I accidentally deleted all the file extension in Registry and now I can’t open internet or any other program without it asking me the File type and what to open with. I tried downloading anti-virus but I can’t run it cause it keeps asking me what to open it with.
