A figment of my imagination.
A story I just wrote…I can see it as a film…Please give an honest opinion… :) I was just walking in the park and then I was imagining the guy I am in love with was there…And I got inspiration by wandering around pretending I wasn’t alone…Lol
A figurment of my Imagination.
As I walked home from I passed a playground and I was amused to see the slim body of a girl lying on the grass on her side with a hand outstretched as if someone was holding it. This intrested me so much I decided to cut through the park and look a bit closer, as I approached her I heard her talking and laughing. I was suprised, there was no one with her and no one else in the park except us, although I don’t think she noticed me. It was odd watching her, she looked so beautiful with her hair spread out and I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. I must have looked like a complete idiot, standing a few feet away with my dark hair hanging in my eyes, staring at a girl who didn’t even notice me.
After a few minutes that passed by so quickly I would have thought they were seconds if it wasn’t for my watch, she got up it looked like someone was holding her outstreched hands and pulling her, but there was no one there. It amazed me how freely she ran, it was as if she was chasing someone to the swings. When she arrived breathless she sat down on the swing and started to swung back and forth, I know it might sound weird but I would have thought someone was pushing her if it wasn’t for the wind. I stood there watching her, I didn’t know why I continued to watch, I just couldn’t bring myself to walk home.
It was as if I was in a trance, but I snapped out of it quick enough when the girl let out a shriek of laughter. Jumping off the swing she began to walk to the slide, she was walking slowly and her arms were around he waist, it looked like she was holding somones arms there. As she climbed the steps up the slide she never let go of her waist, she didn’t need to hold the railing, somone was guiding her up the steps. When she reached the top she waited for a few seconds before tumbling down it still giggling softly. It was at this moment I realised she was the most amazing person I had ever laid eyes on. I watched her pick herself up off the ground and head for the steps again, I didn’t know how to stop watching, I loved her.
Far too soon she began to walk towards the entrance of the park, her hand swinging back and forth, I could tell someone was holding it even if I couldn’t see them. As she walked home with only one earphone in I wondered why I was letting her walk away without even trying to stop her. As she walked further and further away I just stood motionless, I wanted so much to run after her and ask the questions that were spinning around my head. She was almost out of view when I finally made up my mind, I took a deep breath and got ready run and stop her from leaving. It was at that moment she turned around and gave me a small smile. I gasped, I thought she had been blind to me or something. I thought about chasing her, but I knew that I couldn’t, a small tear ran down my cheek as this wonderful person turned the corner and left my view forever.
That night I had a dream and I saw the park through her eyes, everything was more colourful and vibrant than what I had seen. I remember finally seeing who she saw, the thing is it was me. I was the one lying on the grass with her, letting her use my chest as a pillow. I was the one who raced her to the swings and pushed her while never letting go of her hand. I walked her to the slide and slid down it with her and finally I walked her home whilst listening to one of her earphones.
I remember that day and night so clearly, I even remember the music that was playing on her ipod ‘Earth Angel’ by Death Cab for Cutie. I never really understood that day in the park, I don’t know if she was a figment of my imagination or maybe I was actually with her. It could all have been a dream, or it could have been reality. Every day I went back to that park for months and I never saw her again. I traveled back there today, even though it has been years. I just wanted to see that beautiful girl again. It was probably just a trick of the eye but i’m certain I saw a glimse of her hair as she rounded the corner.
