Iraq help: Cheney, Bush and Habbush - Help.com

Cheney, Bush and Habbush

by Amy Goodman

By September 2003, with Habbush silenced, the scheme was hatched to provide the letter that would solve all the White House’s problems: a letter, backdated to July 2001, written in Habbush’s hand, explaining that 9/11 ringleader Mohamed Atta had indeed received training in Iraq for the hijacking, and that al-Qaida had also been helping Iraq obtain uranium from Niger. The letter was faked and leaked in Baghdad, after which a conservative British pundit, Con Coughlin, broke the story that supported the Bush administration. It raged through the international press like wildfire.

Oh, that was Lil Bush, not Habbush. My bad.

Here’s a more related thought. If impeachment is not “off the table” as Nancy Palosi said, it it began, how would this impact the election? Would it really help Dems, or would it be a distraction? How much political capital would be expended in trying to impeach Bush? With his term almost over, is it worth the effort? Some have suggested that Bush, Cheney and their cohorts be prosecuted for war crimes. Would that cause a major disruption in an Obama administration’s first 100 days? I don’t know, but I suspect that it would be extremely divisive at a time when Obama would be seeking to unite the country.

uh huh, that’s been one of the main excuses all along – it’s kind of a “moderate” viewpoint, hmm?

Obama can only change things by appealing to a majority of people. Yes the fanatics are needed (hugs Florie) but if a political war is raging in Obama’s first hundred days, he will lose valuable momentum.

By any reasonable standard I think Bush should have been impeached a couple of years ago, or at least sent on a hunting trip with the VP.
