“Who wants to be on top?”
the question needed an answer.
“i got us in this mess” said adam. “youll be safe, ill get through it”.
eve only cried and begged adam to spare himself. she knew there was no way she could protect them both. adam wasnt thinking that far ahead.
“Alright then.” the man replied.
he proceeded to flip them down, so that adam was facing the street.
their wrist and ankle bindings secure, the man fastened the tow rope to the bumper of the 1994 mustang, and walked toward the driver side door. as soon as the door opened, eve’s tears began. by the time the man took off the emergency brake, and before the car began to move, adam joined in eve’s commotion.
it was a 400 foot incline until the car hit the rail, there wasnt as much red blood as one might expect to see, and it wouldnt last through one rain.
eve laid motionless, unable to move. adam lay dead beneath her.
the two lovers lay back to back for days, until the rain came.

did you know that this song was originally sung by a “rock” group in the 1960’s? (I think…may have been earlier…like the 1950’s). Sounded more like a country song back then.

no, i didn’t. i always thought it was kinda different from other pearl jam songs, but it was a very enjoyable version anyways.
