My Cell phone got stolen.

Hi, I was at a Clothes store and left my cell phone in their because I usually take my cell phone out of my pants pocket when I try on different pairs. So then I went out and forgot my phone I realized this like in 15mins then I ran back and it was gone. I tried calling my fone but the person turned it off. So I deactivated it. But if I don’t have insurance on my phone can I get a different one like online if it says free? I have Verizon wireless if that matters.
