I set up one in another state. It’s not that hard. This link has a checklist for starting a new business in Maryland.

Was it really expensive? See I’m trying to figure out the best method of paying taxes and such for subcontracted work. Becoming incorporated seems like it’d be the easiest way to deal with all that, in the future.

It wasn’t expensive at all. You also will need a biz license for the town/city you live in. Becoming incorporated doesn’t change paying taxes. You still do it quarterly. It places limits on how people can sue you.

Hi Times!
Actually, it’s very easy. I do legal filing work as well. You can get the necessary forms online, but there will be a filing fee and an advertising fee. If you pay a service, you shouldn’t pay more than $300. You can get the forms in your area by googling llc filing documents MD. You’ll need the operating agreement, the articles of organization, the publication notice, and an instruction sheet will be available as well. Generally, the filing fee will be under $100, and if you find a local business or government newspaper, the publication notice could be under $50.

Why do I need publication?

We decided not to Inc yet, the income just isn’t enough to justify the filing.
