because the F,O and N are the ones with most electronegativity
therefore, all the elements from the 1st and the 2nd group form ionics bonds with them…because they only have 1 or 2 electrons on the last energy level…

electronegativity increases as you go from left to right, the highest being florine–noble gases do not count because they don’t like to form bonds. The further apart two elements are the more likely they will form ionic bonds vs covalent.
