He’s leaving today

A guy I work with whom I have a crush on is finishing work today, he’s going to Germany for two months on Sunday. I’ve only worked here three months, but I’ve been hearing about him for over a year from my mother, who got me the job. I wanted to get him a chocolate croissant this morning but the shop beside me had none. Everyone in the office has chipped in money and we got him a card, but I wanted to do something personally for him. What’s worse is I’ve been moved to a different office so I’ll barely see him today. I wish I could’ve known what might’ve been had he not been going to Germany. Or maybe I’m better off not knowing.

Write him a letter and say something like if he’s ever in the area be sure to call you up so you two can hang out! and you should know that it’s never too late!! Good Luck!

Of all the sad words of book or pen, the saddest are these, “it might have been”.

It won’t do you any good thinking about what might have happened, because the truth is no-one will ever know. It could have been amazing, but it could just as easily have been terrible. Don’t beat yourself up thinking about it, but focus instead on the here and now.
