Do you need calculus to be a nurse?

I understand math is important, but is calculus necessary in the nursing field? I know mainly algebra is used.

Do you mean is calculus a requirement? Calculus might be required depending on the program, but I seriously dought its used in the field. You really want to focus on stoichiometry, which you will use practically every day if not numerous times a day.

Algebra is good to know for nursing. I am an RN and am very happy that I do know algebra, it has made my pharmacology calucations much easier. Hope this helps!

it should not be needed. It’s a complete waste of time for nursing.
However it is classical for many schools to waste your time.
I don’t know why this is but it is the case.

I think just pre-calculus, which at my university is the same as advanced algebra-a lot of graphing and stuff.

i am going for RN, but i hate math, and my Univeristy requires Chemistry to be part of program. And thats the only thing thats been keeping me from becoming an RN. I wish just sciene would be needed in a RN program, or even just simple math.

Better study scatology. That is what you will have the most experience dealing with.
