You simply need to turn the nut counterclockwise (when looking down on it) by finding a tool that has two points on it such as a metal scribing compass. There are also special tools made for this, but few people have them. You could also try two awls, pushing them down with the palm of your hand and using a pair of pliers around their base to apply rotaional force.
