Why dont they say anything?

Ok, i have a problem.. sometime when im down i cut myself, and i know my friends know it, they see the scares but they never ask why, or try to help me

Why is that? is there somebody out there who got a friend like me and knows the answer?

The problem is why you cut yourself? Really only you know the real reason and you are the only one that can find help for it and stop it.

Some people do not know what to do, so your friends may be kinda stuck on how to react or what to say.

it sounds like your trying to get attention from your friends by cutting yourself and it bothers you that they say nothing. am i way off on this one ?

I don’t know, maybe they are afraid to ask, or don’t know what to say? They might feel they are being nosy and don’t want to interfere.
There is also a chance that they might think you’re doing it for attention (I’m not for a minute suggesting that’s true about you) and so they don’t say anything cos they want you to stop

If you cut yourself you need professional help and your friends can not offer you that. Speaking to your doctor is a step in the right direction.

Think about it this way. A female friend is going through her monthly cycle, can you really relate to her?

They may be scared or worried about you but they just don’t know how to react. They don’t know what they can say to make you feel and they’re scared about the strength of your emotions. Do you want your friends to see the scars and ask what’s wrong?

i think it’s because they either don’t know or they don’t want to pry. Sometimes people who cut themselves don’t want people to say anything about it. People may feel like they’re being rude if they ask. Hang in there.
