friends help: So here’s my problem: - Help.com

This post left anonymously

So here’s my problem:

I weigh 110-117 pounds and am 5′4″ and would really like suggestions in losing 10-15 pounds.

Sometimes I’ll fast for a day or two, and I never eat breakfast or lunch on weekdays, but sometimes I’ll just binge eat for a meal once a week or so, and immediately gain 4 pounds or more. My friend told me that fasting and then eating a lot will just make it harder to lose the weight I gained from bingeing because that fat just clings better or something.

Any suggestions? I really need help with this - I’ve been struggling with it for years.

Please?

Never Ever fast!!!

breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
because of sleeping through all of those hours
you must eat at least a Pop Tart or some healthy cereal!
Just remember always eat but don’t eat a whole lot of it.
portion it out and make sure that u are not eating an overload
of food.

if you’re religgious, fast. But fasting won’t help you in losing pounds! you’ll just add more! cause you can eat bread and other meals with lots of callories and it makes situation worse.

Buuuuuuuuuuut a pack of poptarts is 400 calories, and I’d really rather not eat that much for breakfast.
I did have a pack of poptarts today, I’ll admit, but I binged today because I fasted for 43 hours and was really, really hungry.
I know it’s not a good thing to do, but I really need to lose this weight.

Ok, listen up because I just lost 10 pounds.
Eat frequentl (every three hours) but only eat a LITTLE bit. Like half a sandwich and a glass of orange juice or something. Make sure you’re always a little bit hungry. STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR!! My dad lost 20 pounds in three weeks (he’s now 180)…so I’m sure it will work.

p.s. No cheating!!

Not a good Idea I’m afraid. Losing 10-15 pounds will cause your BMI to drop to something between 15 and 16! Not healthy. Your body won’t want to do that. No matter what you do, after your bmi goes below about 18 (which for you is around 109lb)it will cling to the remaining fat it has. It will burn muscle before it burns fat. It will go into starvation mode. I really don’t recommend it.
(You probably know, but bmi is ‘body mass index’. Here’s a link: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/)
Please treat your body well, if you have any issues about your weight, don’t hesitate to discuss them with a friend or family, or ask for help on here:)
