In Soviet Russia…

Alright, so I’m completely clueless.
I have no idea what Soviet Russia is.
I looked up soviet in the dictionary and it just said a former member of the USSR.
I was under the impression that it was a sort of, independent country, inside a country.
I really don’t know though.
I never understood why “Soviet Russia” jokes were offensive.
Could someone please try to explain this to me?

ok well soviet russia is a communist organization of an union of several countries all together. basically USSR is translated as soviet union of socialist(communist) respublics. basically russia has formed a power of communist countries around itself for protection and to spread communism. in some or msot cases russia forced the republics to become a part of soviet union for exmaple : Poland. soviet union which head quaters were in Moscow controlled the goverments in those countries. And if ur not sure what communism is than : in easy words its a economic structure (e.g. capitalism)(where communism is actulaly the oppisite of capitalism) where the people have equal rights and no classes so therefore no rich or poor. in this society there is no ownership and whats yours is also the goverments. ill write more later gtg so yeh look up in wikipedia.org
