is Apple going to give me a NEW or REFURB replacement iphone?

hey i have a old iphone that i bought off my friend for 100 bucks, he said he diddnt like it because it had dead pixels, and theres quite a few of them. he gave me a usb cable, car charger, and wall adapter. i looked up the warranty status and it still has warranty until december 21 this year (he was an idiot, lol) and i called up my nearest apple store they said they’d replace the unit. but i wanna know if they’d replace it with a brand new iphone?(remember NON-3g) or give me a refurb? and also after that will my warranty expire?
i’ll keep updating, and tomorrow im gonna go there, but im too hyped xD

i know i’ll be getting an older generation, but im asking about will i get a referb? or a new one (NOT 3g), and i know i cant replace after warranty

It will be refurb, but warranty will still be till 21.12.2008 :)it’s elementary :)
