Week help: My husband and I are in serious trouble. - Help.com

My husband and I are in serious trouble.

He had a stroke 1 year ago, i recently was laid off and unemployment does not cover our utilities nor car payment. We live in California so we do need at least one vehicle. The power company intends to shut off our electric which is now 1,100.00 and I have one more week for one of our cars. We have been living on baked beans and rice to pay our bills. This month we can not afford to pay for rent and eat too! With his health condition he is not eating right. We no longer have health insurance because we could not afford COBRA. I need 2 thousand dollars just to keep what we have until mid week. I only ask that you pray that somehow things will work out. I have been on my knees so much that they have blisters and bruises on them. It doesn’t seem like my prayer is getting through! Please pray for us. I want a job so bad.. and with no prospects it doesn’t look good. We are scared hungry and owe a lot in doctor and hosipital bills. I have also prayed that god take us both so the worrying will end. So when you pray, pray for either or. As long as god will help us either way. Whether that be take both of us or somehow find 2000.00 for food, car and rent that we are behind on. Please god help us.

You will be in my prayers, also. Have you thought about going to some of the charitable organizations in your community? I am thinking of Goodwill, which helps people with barriers to employment. It is possible that a local church would be able to help you. Also, if you are a senior citizen there is the Area Agency for Ageing. Check your phone book for that one. Some of the senior citizen centers offer prepared meals. I understand that these organizations can’t solve all your financial problems, but if you start attacking one problem at a time, you will feel more in control.

Most people don’t think of this however if you can not make a credit card or car payment all most all major loan companies have a deferment program. Just call them and tell them about your situation (without getting emotional). Ask them (you have to be specific) if you can defer your payments for 2 months while you get on your feet. You will have to do paperwork however the missed payments usually wont show on your credit (some company’s do report it most don’t)

This happened to me too…look in the phone book, call a bankruptcy lawyer, (I know it scary but the bills will stop) and they will not take things away, like your car…they can really help . Go to this website: http://www.chcf.org/topics/view.cfm?i… for health care..Get food from the food bank… Good luck.

I have met a couple before that was unemployed. It’s horrible. It’s stressful. It is so especially for the elderly to deal with financial crisis such as that.

I will pray and hope you well. God bless you.

You still have a purpose in life, you shouldn’t say something like praying to god to take you away. Everything is going to be ok, as long as you have faith. Even though in the natural you may not see a way, but that dosen’t mean that there isn’t one, you just have to look a little harder is all. Stay strong and keep believing is all it takes to turn your life around, it may not sound like much but it counts for alot.

Where there is a will there is always a way. Your prayer has been heard, just believe that the bills will be paid. With the light company let them know what your situation is and they will give you some information as to what to do. I understand how this job thing is, because things are hard for me here in Chicago. I thank God that I am still working, but it’s not enough to keep my head afloat. Living paycheck to paycheck hurts.

The same God that opened the sea to make a way for His people is hearing you. I know all this might sound trite to you but keep your head up and trust God. Praying for you!

Thank you all for your prayers! I called many agencies to get help. electric, car etc., One said call back next week… by then the electricty will be turned off. The car loan company said since we are already behind we can’t defer the payment.

I prayed all night… and this morning. Please know I really do appreciate your prayers. I am so scarred right now! So life is going at warped speed.

god bless you for your prayers!

Take up a telecommute job, some companies like JLodge prefer to hire disabled people. You can apply for freelance writing, bookkeeping, software, transcription, online tuition or customer service work at home jobs. These companies do not require any fee and pay well . List of companies(with websites) offering genuine work at home jobs is available at http://www.pcworkathome.net . Many of these companies have been in business for several years

You can also try your luck at online charities like Modest Needs, people may send donations, if your requirement is genuine. From http://www.laodn.org/

Neku,

I don’t know enough to talk about power supply. Sorry.

Yes, our requirements are very real! And I did everything to put all off yesterday. It seems like I just get the run around where ever I go. Maybe I am so scared I just can’t see the light anymore!
