The CERN Concern!
Ok, so i know that it sounds outragous that the particle accellerator (LHC in france/switzerland) could destroy the earth but the fact that a large portion of leading scientist belive that it may create a black hole is slightly concerning. And should the scientists be unable to contain the black hole then i can safely say we are all screwed.
I mean i doubt anything will happen, i bet there wont be anything to see at all even if you were to watch it happen and i suppose it would take a few days at the least to compile the data but there is a slight doubt in my mind that this experiment is safe to perfom. Does anyone else have this concern?
I’m sure there are people out there that are convinced that we will all be killed by a black hole and i’m sure there are people who strongly belive it will be a perfectly safe but the fact that nobody has done this before and nobody has any clue to what will actually happen is both worrying and interesting to me.
May i also point out that the date this is happening is the start of a ten second count down; the tenth of the ninth oh eight or 10/09/08 is a bit of a funny coincidence…
But like i said, i think it is safe and i think that it will further our knowledge about sub atomics and the structure of the universe and like some people think take us a step closer to time travel…
