I know I’ll be happy to see this election finished. I’m not sure how anyone could be a McCain supporter, personally, but since the primaries went on for so long, and the election coverage will be everywhere after the Rep. Convention… Ugh, I’m already sick of it. But, I’m sick of the past eight years even more so. I don’t like the US being defined the way we’ve decided we should be in the past eight years, all the lies told, all the cover-ups. I’m not 100% behind Obama, but McCain’s an idiot, and I’ve had my fill of an idiot in the White House.

As far as ideas of patriotism, I loved Barbara Kingsolver’s essay “And Our Flag was Still There.”
