Find people who are genuine, find new interests, “network”.

You work in the woods for weeks at a time? Sounds like a great job to me! So . . . what do you do when you come out of the woods?

I was thinking the same thing, I’d rather like to go live in the woods permanently!

no doubt i love my job
its my blessing and my curse
im a crew superintendent for a 20 man fire crew
im in the practice of coming off as superior as a way of distancing my self and controlling the attitude of men that work for me that are much older than i
pretty much i cant have friends at work aside from my captains

i feel like “ive grown up” faster than people my age

Therein may lie your answer, you need to make friends with people who are older and/or more mature. They would likely be more understanding of the demands of your work and accepting of the fact that you aren’t always available.
