Help needed in advanced functions Gr.12.

I’m stuck on one problem, the part I’m concerned about is where i have to factor (3x^2 + 16x - 9), my teacher used the quadratic formula and somehow came up with the final answer [x - (-8 (plusminus) √91) /3] [x + (-8 (plusminus) √91) /3], please help me to understand how he got this answer, thanks alot!
