ok, i didnt read the whole thing because i read the first 2 and i dont understand it. anway, technically i am catholic, but when you think about it, wouldnt it make more sense that man created god in his mind? animals never worship god, do they? we are the only animals with the ability to think, therefore, couldnt we have thought of a ruler of all things and created him in our image, so that he could understand our problems?

exactly….people just want someone to follow. Honestly, why do people beleive this stuff though…It was made up back before time hardly even existed. We know how gravity works and stuff now, it is not god. Personally, it angers the crap outta me when people try to use god as their excuse for things will get better…we people have the power of god,…seriously. God ain’t gonna get rid of greenhouse gases emitted from us (the U.S. particularly). We, the people have to do it ourselves.

You said man was the only animal with the ability to think. Wrong. The following sounds like animals thinking to me.

This is from FOX (conservative!) news. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,3…

Another one.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/…

You said animals don’t worship God. True, but maybe they are onto something because they don’t kill people over religious or political beliefs or money.

……wow…of course animals can learn, how else would we be here today. Duh…oh…but hey, i read the rest of your reply now. Haha, i kinda agree with ya. Until we throw away are so called “gods” we will always be bad people, cause we will always have opposing groups. But even without gods we would find something else to argue about, like music, or mates (like animals do).

ahhhhh the chimp memory test, yes i heard about that. i dont think it proves that they think. i forget the terms from my biology class, but it said there are 2 types of thinking. one in which your brain subconsiously relates items, sounds, colors, etc to other things. such as if you eat a food, and love it, eat so much you get sick, your brain will register that food as making you sick, without you thinking about it. the animals only have this brain ability. in the other one, you think out “if i eat 40 bannanas i will get sick, however, if i eat 2 i may not.”

therefore, animals cant think or theorize.
you said “they don’t kill people over religious or political beliefs or money.” they dont have religious beliefs, because their brains arent evolved enough to create a god. they dont have politics, because they are primitive and their first priority is to survive. and then, they would kill each other over food, which i think is the animal equivalent to money if there is any. ill betcha monkeys have wars over “i want the bannanas on your side of the creek and im going to take them with my clan of monkeys,” its possible…they dont have the intelligence to process oil to make pollution. as far as killing other animals for fur coats, well, if you believe in god, you believe that he gave us the animals to make us happy, and we rule over them. in which case we are free to do whatever we want with them that will make us happy.

BUT! that means that both statements are both true and false at the same time.
