Computer transfer rates:

480mbit/s (usb 2.0)
is nearest to what harddrive RPM rate (meaning I’m taking a harddrive through usb)
Now I realize SATA HDDs are either 1.5GB/s or 3.0GB/s, but how does that really compare when transfered through usb? is it limited? does RPM not even matter if it can only transfer 480mbit through USB?
Really, its quite confusing, so if anyone could simply explain it, I would be quite surprised.

You know what, I don’t think it matters. 480mbit is the max through usb.

Usb 1 and 2 have a limit no matter what you plug into it firewire may be slightly faster and does not rely on the power limitations set on usb
