Problems with Myspace.com, Friendster or Bebo.com?

Generally speaking, if you are having issues with those sites it is best to contact their support staff directly. These links can get you started:

Myspace Support, Friendster Support and Bebo Support

If you are trying to access these services from your school and are blocked, we suggest you abide by the schools rules while you utilize the schools equipment.

There’s a code.
But they know your account so you’d get suspended.

Don’t bother. There’s probably a way, but even if somebody knew there’s no point in going through the trouble to break the rules. Just wait until you get home. Sorry, it’s not the answer you were looking for, but I think it’ll help you more in the long run.

If all the proxy servers are blocked then I really have no idea. I think it gets far too technical. If you can figure it out then utmost respect to you, but essentially it’ll be a waste of time. Just make do with Myspace at home. You can manage without refrigerators and TV whilst at school, and there’s no chance of getting those any time soon.

Agreed - if you have a cell phone and internet access on it, you can use it to access myspace (but don’t get your cell phone taken away!) :o)

Just don’t do it.
It’s so not worth getting suspended or 10 hours of detention just so you can waste your life on a stupid website.
Do you really want to take the risk anyways?
I know how too, though.

Hello all!
Web blocking systems in use by schools in the UK
If yuo live in the US or different, this may not apply, but the techniques may still work.

The main way the county council block students from viewing things they dont want them to view, is the council forces the school’s internet connection through a proxy. This also severly slows the school’s connection.

The way to get around this is to specify your own proxy in your web browser - insstead of using the county’s proxy, use a different one. Eg, the proxy probably used is something like:
Code:
**********************/secondary.pac.

The way to get around the proxy is to change this to

Code:
**********************/staff.pac.

The only trouble with this is, if your settings are managed by your administrators, the ponytail club, then you will have to use a different browser like firefox. Just copy all the files from the program files at home, and place them in your home area at school.
Then when you open it, just ask to import settings and change the proxy settings as outlined above.
And thats it - you’ll get the same level of internet censorship as a member of staff!
