there are many things you can pray for, when i pray for those , I ask that His will be done in every situation (His way), but i also ask Him to comfort those who need comforting….that works believe me! i have been in a rough, stressful situation before, with and wiout his comfort and peace in the matter, and let me tell you , i would rather do it with His peace upon me. Also , when most people are in a stressful situation, they dont know how to ask for that. they have a huge problem not handing it all unto God! and that can be rough on people. they try to handle everything themselves. anyways thanks for the responce. First I would like to say Thanks Amanda for your post, and your thoughts on my post! Ok, It is very hard when your in a situation not to take control, we are human that what we do! However to answer your question, “What do they really mean Give it all to God”? Well in the bible there is a passage That says, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is kind.” MATTHEW 11:28-30
Which means Come all to me, all of you with your troubles, the weight i carry is light, take mine upon you. And he will take ours. And your are partly right! It does not mean just sit there on your butt and do nothing. It means pray about your situation, pray about what He wants you to do (because we are human and when our emotions get involved we dont always seem to make a sound decision. But pray and talk to him about the next step, act on it, but not to be weary, don’t tell God your handing it to him and ask to give you comfort, then sit around letting it worry you to death. He kinda takles on the stress for you. Basically what He is saying is make your dicisions unto him (for Him, His way) And you shouldn’t worry. And this works, I’m living proof…See I’m a worry wart normally, but it took me a while to get this down, I wanted to be in control, but that just makes it harder on yourself. WHen you say “Here God, I can’t take it anymore, Please put it in my heart to make the best decision. You know what is right for me, Lord. I’m giving all of my worry to you in FAITH that you will work it all out, In the mean time Lord, I promise to think about my choices and the effect there of. Please just guld me step by step through this, and comfort me through this! Thats all Hun. Once you learn to to that everything is so much easier.
