The chocolate cookies I bake always turn out too hard.

What can I do to make them chewy?

maybe they are being cooked too long? or it could be the badder mixture

Add vanilla pudding mix. (Bout….3/4 of a cup)

Also it helps to add half cup of marshmallows and/or bake for 4 minutes less than the bake time on the recipe.

yeah, adding pudding to the mix is really good, also apple sauce works well to keep baked good moist. also…it could be you are baking them too long. take them out right as they are about to be finished cooking. if you are cooking them for like 13 minutes, start checking around 10 or 11 minutes and then let them cool on a flat plate or a cookie rack. if you let them cool on the cookie sheet they will continue cooking and will get harder.
