Perhaps you could ask your mom to have a word with his mom. Perhaps suggest a small fee for a regular time once a week. Or explain that you’re concerned about the time issue but if you have any spare time you will go round and teach him a little (for fun). But if she wants something more routine you would need to be paid a little for your time.

Personally I wouldnt care if it got uncomfortable.. Ask for some money or tell them u dont have the time bcoz of school and stuff.. Dont ever learn kids to play piano for free!

yup, it would definitely be embarrassing if you mention payment now…
you can say you’re sorry you don’t have the time anymore because you have this part time job and mention that you absolutely need the extra money for this and that…
the main point here is to express ‘you need the extra money’… and probably if need be, you should also mention you’d actually rather be with Brian than working in some… kitchen (perhaps?)
then, if all goes according to plan, she’ll ask ‘how much are they paying you?’

sounds like she is manipulating you because she knows that you want to charge…

you have to be strong and not let anyone step all over you… seriously… something needs to be said.. even if you look into how much normal people charge for lessons and drop that price in half… atleast you are getting something for your time… and she could be happy with not paying so much…

be strong…

Just say that You are starting a little side job and that is piano to teach the piano. And that it wont take very long to teach and cut the wage back a little bit
