Can more than one person have the same Anonymous avatar?

Or is each one assigned to a specific IP address? There’s a whole bunch of posts with the same av and they’re really confusing me!

Yes. Many people can have the same avatar. Though sometimes it happens because the IP adresses are similar.

If you look on the front page at the minute there are two posts by different people who both have the purple anonycon. I happens.

If you are seeing the same avatar, its highly likely that its the same person. I assume it is IP based, so the chances of you seeing the same IP-based avatar from two different people is very slim.

Yes 2 people can have the same avatar as Anons - this is particular to one internet service provider, can also apply to dial-up. It makes absolutely no difference as the mods can tell if it’s the same person making repeat posts. I personally accused a lot of people of terrible things when I didnt know that - am still apologising to all of those purple avatars.

At the end of the day Anon - is simply that - Anon. The other business you were referring to didnt involve any kind of abuse of Anon posting - it was multiple posts with names and profiles attached. - Mas1st
