Well things you should know normally are:
-specs: i.e. ram, processor…
-OS and softwares installed (especially if they are using P2P and other file sharing softwares)
-Internet usage and device usage (Is bluetooth used? do you shop online?)
-Antivirus, spyware and the last time updated…
-any modifications done recently to the device…
-Anythign that might have led to a hardware problem like the device got dropped, power surge…
I guess this should help you start…

Well for someone who dosent know anything bout PS’s thats a good question…
I guess you should also ask them how long have they been using computers and how old the present one is…

You should probably first find out what the problem is before suggesting ways to fix it.
eg. “I have a problem with my computer.”
“Did you turn it on?”

Not exactly a good idea…

Well, I think you could start by helping me if u like.
I have a dell dimensionl866r and just installed windows xp on it. Due to some error on the xp disk, the computer now doesn’t have multimedia controllers so I don’t have any audio. What can I do?
