I have finally made it to college and into the honors program here. As part of the honors program, I am supposed to come up with a service learning project. I thought I would get a group of people together from the college and go to a certain place in the US. However, I do not know where to go. Any ideas? Then, once I know where to go, I do not know how to get started. Who do I contact? What do I do to get started? I figured we would all go down during Christmas vacation or something. I was thinking we could go some place recently affected by a natural disaster such as the hurricane states. However, by December, things will have died down. So I was thinking we could go some place with a great deal of poverty. If we could see poverty first hand, we would be able to have a better sense of what we can do to help, and a better appreciation for what we have. Leave me some suggestions about what to do and where to go and how to get started…thanks guys
