Can’t sleep

lately I’ve been having trouble sleeping and it’s making me sleep in too late and I’m completely exhausted during the day. Does anyone have any ideas that can help please?

wait till the weekend if you are in school. But get up early one day (around 7:00 or so) and don’t take any naps during the afternoon. Then go to bed around 8:00 (pm not am lol) or so. The next morning you should wake up sooner and it should all sort itself out

Check your diet and general stress levels, also keep note of how many hours sleep you’re getting, I work nights and have found a certain number of hours that allows me to function well at night and have time to myself in the day. It all adds up suprisingly enough

Exercise or do some intense activity to get to motivated and to exhaust yourself. Afterward you will fall into “REM sleep” REM sleep is when you immediately sleep due to the energy that is used from your body.

Ah darn, false information on my behalf. Forgive me.

Check out “sleep hygiene” on the internet.

Only go to bed when tired. Otherwise stay out of the bed. Use it for sleep only.

Warm milk can help, so can melatonin. Diphenhydramine can help you sleep, but only use that if you are an adult, or with the permission of your parent or guardian.

Melatonin works also, but again use only if you are an adult or with permission of your parent or guardian.

If you do use melatonin or diphenhydramine, use them every other night. It’s ok to miss a day of sleep every other night.

Stop the caffeinated drinks! Especially after 4pm.

Exercise! That will really help. Breathing exercises. Tighten your muscles one at a time and then relax them. Right leg, left leg, right arm, left arm.

If that all fails, go see your doctor.
