Money help: I am a single mom who really is going through a rough time right now. - Help.com

I am a single mom who really is going through a rough time right now.

My car just broke down on me Wednesday and I have no clue how I am going to pay for it to get fixed. I use my car for work purposes in that I have to travel on my job. I put about 30,000 miles a year on it. I can not afford a new car because I don’t have enough money for that and a house payment. I could really use some money to help get my car fixed. Is there anyone who could possibly loan me the money to do so until I get my taxes back in February? I am not looking for a hand out, just some help to get through a rough time.

What happened? I mean like what do you think is wrong with the car? Some problems could be minor and easily fixed, others could be a headache.

I don’t really know. I was working out of town going between stops and I pulled into my third stop and it just died. A man pulled up beside me and said he had been a mechanic for 40 years. He looked at it and said it was not “firing” and could be a module or something in the distributor cap or any number of things. Knowing my luck, it will probably be something major. I hope not because I can’t afford to get it fixed right now.

yes. I think it may be a bad module or something in the distributer cap. I’m not sure. I’m not mechanically inclined. Someone looked at it and said that it could be that or any number of things.

my father checked that and all the fuses seem to be fine, so I think it’s something to do with module or distributor cap. I hope it’s something inexpensive cause I’m broke and can’t afford this right now.
