So i was sitting in class today and were starting to learn about the Trojan love story…
thats not why im here to post though.
We watched the trailer of Troy and it got me thinking.
Does Modern war or the Old war interest you?
by old war i dont mean like… civil war and stuff or medieval times i mean back when it was good!
Romans…Greeks…Persians…
so Which interests you more?
Tactics done in the old old days or the tactics of today?
personally…
i love the old wars with the Spartans, Romans, alexander the great
modern war not so much, but i love FPS shooter games…
the new tech we have is very amazing but i still find the older wars better.
Lets see your opinion

even midevil times were fair once the gun was invented war became who had better technology and who had the best luck
yeah true
you really dont even have to send anyone to training now, guns come with instruction manuals:
First, turn the safety off
Second, Do not aim at your allies
Third, aim for the enemy
Fourth, Pull the trigger
Fifth, repeat until battle is over.

yeah its really not interesting to learn about anymore O.o
i mean you need some skill still like reloading fast and running/aiming but realy you dont decide if you live or die in the long run
I think the way wars were conducted back then, needed more skill in terms of strategy and such, there was something more sincere about it, since alot of those who fought were just mere citizens and not necessarily trained well enough for the combat they faced, but I agree it was more face to face. Even as late as WW1 … there was a level of respect against those you fought… how in dog fights… one pilot would actually wait for the other to reload their weapon… always got me. Interesting post!
yeah dog fights are the most interesting, whenever its on the history channel i watch it
Dogfights or like i watch the military and history channel alot
i know what your thinking now…Dont :D
dogfights are really all you need skill for now…
the old wars are much more interesting it was truely brains vs. brawns,,now its just machines
It was based on a graphic novel, it wanted to keep the animated kind of look about it which it did amazingly well if you’ve ever read the original. And a depressing film means it’s stupid?
Old war is so much more interesting! and it has like little secret scandals here and there which are pretty interesting…like cleopatra and mark anthony and all that stuff…I love history…well I don’t like what some people did, but it’s interesting to learn about
I like the native american’s war tactics
Honestly, No war interest me. I just find war a dull and boring topic. If I had to choose, I’d say the old wars though.
it was ridicouls,,they story was good but I hate the whole combanation with real life thing I think its stupid

i dont think there is animation….its all real people…fighting and stuff…
the blood was where I first saw it but then I started to see it through out the entire movie
it just bothers me..anamation should be for cartoons only

so have i lol
The old wars involved more strategem on the field of battle, today is all cloak and dagger and covert missions. so definitely the old wars. Troy is one of my favorite movies. Awesome choriography.
….And I love strategy. the moving of the pieces of war, the pushing and retreating, the sheer brilliance involved in the ploys of the commanders. Its like chess, using every piece to win, big or small. Ancient Greek and Roman was my favorite Era of warfare.
