Rage from within.

Fire explodes from my lungs,
My entire body trembles.
I throw myself into the air,
Screaming as loud as my voice allows.
When my feet once again touch the ground,
I run.
My legs move faster than they ever have before.
I just need to get away, I say.
I need to leave.
I have to fly.
I drop down and begin running on all fours,
my speed increases,
I don’t even notice the cars falling behind me.
The wind tunnel surrounding me allows my escape.
No obstacle stands in my way.
I am the invincible force now.
The car heading towards me looks like a deer caught in the headlights.
I keep running.
I keep flying.
I need the escape.
I flee from the world in an effort to gain my self control.
Blood begins to drip from my hands.
They are not used to pounding down the road.
My muscles ache from moving in such an unusual way.
“Help me!” I scream at the top of my lungs.
The fierceness in my voice unmistakable.
My eyes were burning,
I could hardly see anything.
In front of me…
A person stood.
100 meters away.
“Move, fool!” I barked.
They stood their ground,
staring at me.
So familiar…
But I wasn’t stopping now.
I would tear right through them.
I was a train,
unstoppable.
My movement accelerated.
I prepared to leap.
My heart pounding harder than ever.
Their eyes bore into mine with more vigor than I had.
It was a girl.
Who was this?
I was only feet away when I recognized them.
I knew her.
And I could never hurt her.
I loved her.
I stopped my motion completely.
I stood in front of her,
only inches from her.
The wind finally caught up and blew all the hair out of her face.
She screamed slightly,
too much force to be able to stop.
She stumbled backwards.
The realization of everything smacked me.
It hit me harder than I would have her.
I collapsed to my knees and apologized.
My muscles ached,
my body was ripped apart.
My mind was spinning.
I toppled over,
hoping to never wake again.

Wow.
Such energy, and with that sudden STOP. The flow was fantastic. I was carried away on the wind of your running, your recognition, your realization, the impact, and your final collapse.
You had my imagination completely there with you through the whole experience.
Awesome poetry.

I am very familiar with rage - suppress it daily - my best outlet is killing ear hairs with hardcore music

I hope it all work out well when you (are/were) strong enough to fight it. I remember a song from somewhere long ago that had a line:”anger is an energy”

No way, it doesn’t suck.
Don’t be modest. It’s great. :-)

I’m not being modest, I just don’t like anything I write.
It all sounds like junk to me. 90% of what I write is deleted/shredded/burned.

Again, thanks. But the only way anything gets posted is if I type it, and post it quickly before I can re-read it or start thinking again.

Well stop shredding it then. Let it lie forgotten until you are gone. Then someone will find it and you will become famous. (Thats the least you can do with it.)
