Why do people put exclamation points at the end of questions!
Isn’t it supposed to be a question mark.

If I’m not mistaken but, an exclamation is used when a person is making a statement.
I.E. I said what the hell!
Normally it would be used with speech marks and like a lot of the idiosyncrasies, are probably a throw back to a time when full stops and commas weren’t used. You have a point, I have no idea why either.
Its to add Enphasis micheal, ummm like shot up the wall !!! said with excitment or something expressed with anger, the exclamation marks, just make a remark stand out, or as if its got emotional enphasis… Im not explaining this real well am I lol
She said with excitement in her voice “Look at the train!! ” make sence ?
Only a question mark if its a question, “where is the train going ?”
If they put it at the end of a question, its because they are umm kind of shocked and they may be, being sarcastic…Oh yes you would do that, wouldnt you !!!!

Sometimes I say “Why?!” with a question mark AND an exclamation mark, for emphasis.
Some of it is chat talk, and because we have to communicate via typing, its sometimes hard to express emotions :-)
Exactly florie yep :-)
Do you feel happier now michael ? sorry I didnt explain it too well lol
I think your explanation was frank and very clear Sasha101. I learnt something today. Thanks!
