Ive never really read the bibble. The only time i have ever read something close to that was when i was going to do my first communion and my confirmation.

1 cor 13:11

When I was a babe, I used to speak as a babe, to think as a babe, to reason as a babe; but now that I have become a man, I have done away with the [traits] of a babe.

Wow, you guys are wonderful!! I am kinda new to Christianity, and the only verses I know are the ones in John…because I got ’stuck’ there trying to read my Bible. Someone told me it was a good book to start with and I have read it like 6 times b/c I just can’t comprehend/take it all in….so I feel like I can’t ‘move on…’

Anyway, I guess that’s good, b/c I give my kids a Bible verse every so often and they memorize it and say it each night. Part of this is so that I can memorize, too. To have it in my heart. Anyway, I guess the three verses that my kids have memorized are as follows, they must be my fave’s and some of them I edited to be “kid friendly”

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. I made them memorize this one b/c I think it kinda talks about the trinity and the holiness of the Bible as being the same as the ‘word’ of Jesus…

John 3:16

John 3:3 Jesus said to a man that if you are not born again you cannot see the kingdom of God.

Try reading the book of Mark next. It’s the about Jesus, just like John is but written from another perspective. It’s a little easier to understand than John.

-K-

But I guess I’m one of those people who has to fully understand before I can move on…and I don’t think I will ever fully understand the Bible.

One thing that I have noticed, tho’ is that the Bible is profound. Strong points can be gotten (not a word, I know) across with so few words…it is amazing how that is possible in the Bible and very few, if any, other works of literature are that way.

I have studied the bible for thirty years and I’m just scratching the surface. Revelations is seriously deep.

I’m scared to read Revelations. I think it is about the ‘end’ and I don’t want to know….

Are you a preacher? Or a Christian who has been faithful to the religion for so long? What types of stories do you have about answered prayer? Testimonies?

1Corinthians 13: 4-7

Love is patient. Love is kind. It doesn’t want what belongs to others. Love is not boastful. It is not proud. It is not rude. It doesn’t look out for its own interests. It does not easily become angry. It doesn’t keep track of other people’s wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil. But it is full of joy when the truth is spoken. It always protects. It always hopes. It never gives up.
