Jeesus - has anyone actualy done even the smallest amount of reading into this? The LHC at CERN is merely a very large supercollider. We’ve had supercolliders for ages - and the entire blackhole theory is based on this:

Basicaly some quantum phsyicists beleive that though according to conventional physics there is no way that the LHC could produce the kind of energy to create a mini black hole - according to some of the factors in Quantum physics it is possible that the LHC could create a mini black hole at a rate of about 1 per second.

These mini black holes would decay and dissapear very quickly according to conventional physics. So even if they where produced they would do nothing more than make some quantum physicists very happy indeed.

Maybe two mini black holes will be made next to each other, then eat each other, causing a hole in this dimension, allowing us to go into the Dimension of Crab People….

That’s actualy much more likely and sane than the idea that it will somehow end the world

What that means is plain and simple .The Black Hole is divided in 4 sections, Males Females Each one has his or hers own sections .One is for good people and one is for bad people .Now if you were good on this planet Earth, done all your Home work ,helped your Parents ,made your Bed ,done the Dishes after you have eaten watched less TV,didnt smoke any hoochee coochee ,well maybe one or two Joints you will be alright you will finnish up in the good section of the Black Hole ,if you are going into the bad section .Well thats all im going to say about the Black Hole….

Must admit this is all over the news at the moment, and has me concerned. If there are any quantum physicists around to tell us it will be o.k. and explain in laymans terms how they can be sure please speak now or until Wednesday forever hold your piece.

Right. I am not a quantum physicist - but I have an understanding of the area you’re talking about - largely cos I read about it in New Scientist and a buncha journals. Basicaly most physicists don’t think it could possibly produce enough energy to create any kind of black hole.

However, some quantum physicists beleive that when the LHC is activated the energy produced as well as the overlapping of various dimensions may allow for mini black holes to be created at a rate of up to 1 per second. These black holes are harmless though - they would naturaly decay in split seconds and dissapate.

This is as close to Layman’s terms as I can explain it - if anyone has any more questions on this please, drop me a shout.

Omg! this has been going roung my school and tbh.. i asked all my teachers and they said its not going to happen. Because if it was going to happen dont you think evreyone would be spending these last few days properly. & not in school. I mean dont get me wrong im scared to death. but they are doing it underground and so we will be okay. i dont get why scientists are doing this anyway the stupid muppets. They know that it could kill everyone so why is everyone still going along with it. there is like a 1 in one million chance that we will die, so people calm down. besides scientists have this vacume so that if it DOES go horribly wrong they can suck us back out again. scientists are always doing things that are unsafe so we can learn what happens. they (or at least most of them) understand and accept the risk of playing with this stuff.
they are like 99% sure noting will happen. nobody else is feaking out.
we are all having good calm discussion about the LHC because some people don’t fully understand what it is but want to know.

you comfort me.. :), i do know.., yes that is true, there is no prove of black holes, and us humans haven’t even been in one..
