life help: So I am starting to become extremely unmotivated. - Help.com

So I am starting to become extremely unmotivated.

My job sucks, and its taking a toll on me, I am exhausted and just want to sit on the couch. i have gained 15 pounds since this has happened. and no matter what i do, I cant get myself to do anything. I just want to chill out. i have tried to set goals, or givemyself reasons to get up off my ***, but its just not working. I feel like I am not passionate about anything in my life other than my wife, things are great with her, but there is nothing else that really drives me to do anything. What does it take to get goin?

Ask your wife if she would be interested in taking some time together to take a walk or something easy but something other than crashing on the couch. Maybe this will spark some motivation in you and she can help bring out some ideas for things you can do. Having a job that takes a lot out on you can be tough, too. But if you can find something you really enjoy doing, fixing up an old car, building model airplanes, learning to cook/bake new things, maybe you’ll find you’re not as exhausted as you think.

I know this feeling. Circumstances never quite as heavy as yours but I get the lack of motivation. Create something. Make something that you know only you can do. It always makes me feel better.

As for the other real life stuff, you can get a job, you can lose weight if you so choose. You have your wife there to support you, you just have to want to do the rest of it. You’re aware, you know what needs to happen, so get to work!

Get a new job. Monster, Yahoo Hotjobs, Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards, where you can apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many smaller companies post their vacancies on this online classifieds website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals also are becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired.
