Hallucinations!

I was at work, and before I know it I’m witnessing a family at a church. They’re wrestling with a cat. The cat has a toy in its mouth, it’s a toy mouse, so i take it away and it turns into a clump of hair. when i find i can’t turn it into a mouse again, i dump it in disgust. Then i see the problem. they’re trying to baptize the cat. you can’t baptize a cat! cat’s don’t like water! I blink and I’m back at work. okaaaaay.

a few minutes later i’m at the zoo. everyone’s pointing and the guide is telling us about this strange phenomenon. a lion cub had escaped and wandered into the sea animals exhibit, where is had been found and adopted by a sea otter. now the lion cub was a trouble-maker, and bigger than the sea otter, but the otter was tough and aggressive, so it had little trouble keeping the lion cub disciplined. i was wondering if a drawing of the two of them would be an interesting picture for my art class, when i blinked and suddenly i was back at work again.

it’s been happening alot lately. weird.

When you say “happening a lot lately” Do you mean this has all started recently, or has increased lately?
Are you aware of whats happening around you when you get these halluncinations?

no! i’m not taking anything! not even so much as throat lozenge! it’s really strange. and the hallucinations are really random too. i don’t know what brings them on.

it has increased lately, narg. and i’m not aware of my surroundings at all. but i did have an odd experience yesterday morning as i was studying for class. my mind suddenly stopped processing when i realized i couldn’t feel my legs. like as if they weren’t there and i was just a torso sitting in a chair. i had to focus really hard to tell myself they WERE there before i could try moving them again. and it wasn’t like they were asleep, i was sitting in a normal position. i really got the feeling like they just weren’t there at all!

How old are you? Just asking because sometimes people go through a “pyscotic period” in their youth… How long to they tend to last?

Well don’t take me for definite on that one… My doctor mentioned it to me once, I’m by no accounts an expert…
Hows your sleep? There are such things as insomniac halluncinations, although they tend to be slight, for example, lamps slowly rotating, or things floating…
Yours seem slightly more complex lol. Maybe you should see someone confidentially? It doesn’t sound like they influence the way you act on think, which is a good thing.

hmm. i do have random cases of insomnia. sometimes i go to sleep right away. at others i can’t go to sleep so i get out of bed. before i know it the sun’s coming up, i get dressed, and i’m on my way. :|

ha ha, maybe a change on the way i think would be a good thing. i’m a little screwed in the head as it is! ;D

What do you mean by the way you think? Do you like getting these halluncinations, I imagine they can be quite interesting, although no doubt worrying, going on the legs one…
Do you remember when they started? And if anything had happened in your life to change around that time?

hm? i’m a little bit on the odd side. sometimes the things i say, the stuff i do. i can’t really help it, most of it feels compulsory and i’m rather impulsive as it is and i just put anything on my mind out there. there’s nothing really wrong with it, though, i guess. it’s just kinda funny. people would probably be able to understand me better if i were a little closer to the “normal” side.

but even if i wanted to be normal, i doubt i chould change. or even have that want for very long. ;)

i do like getting these hallucinations, but they do leave me pretty disoriented at times…

i sometimes think that my hallucinations and lucid dreamings are the results of my mind trying to compensate for reality. people tell me that it’s quite obvious that i have ADHD, but i’ve never really given it serious thought. never really needed too, i suppose, cuz it’s never really been much of a prob for me. yeah, i’m always figeting, i instantaneously lose track of thoughts if i get distracted, i say whatever’s on my mind at the moment, i’m always doodling, i even on some occaisions feel the urge to talk out loud to myself (sometimes to my own dismay) just to keep my thoughts at a manageable pace… but it’s all good.

anyway. sometimes i get bored with things going on around me. it’s rather odd. sometimes i’ll be immensely fascinated my stuff like grass and rocks. and then sometimes i’ll be bored with the whole fact that reality is, well, real… so perhaps my imagination is compensating for this logical fact by throwing out things completely illogical.

i dunno, but it’s a theory! :]

Wow this is a long comment - I hope your sitting comfortably!

This might sound completly ridiculous, but you should write… You sound like a creative person, I bet you could use thes vivid halluncinations to your advantage, and work stories around them. Thats what I would do anyway. But I’ve wanted to write since i was about 9. I know that, because Astroe knows that.
The only things i see are different representations of my subconcious, more like voices. I never lose control of where I am though, like yours. It must be quite worrying to feel disoriented like that, do you have any awareness that you are “away” when you are… Ok that doesn’t make sense… I mean by that like, when you were in the zoo, did you know while you were there that it was an hallucination, or did you believe that was the present?

Hmmm, I don’t know much about ADHD, but it tends to be one of thse things that doctors figure out when ur a kid, so it can’t be that bad. I talk out loud lol, sometimes talking to Astroe, which I try to control, especially in public!! A person I know who has it doesn’t understand the emotions of others, is quite pushy and self-obsessed (he also just cheated on his gf, one of my good friends, so i’m a bit off with him, as you might be able to tell lol) you don’t sound like you have problems like that, so I would say you don’t have it, though again, I’m no expert…

I’m really interested in your mind now! It sounds a bit akward for you at times, but I love learning about how people think (my methods aren’t exactly normal either), its just something that has always interested me…
I like your theory, your mind making things a bit more interesting, I think thats similar to me actually…

very comfortable indeed. :)

no, i am not aware that i am away. i don’t even realize that these dream-situations are absurd until i come back. :P

yeah, i’ve never paid much attention to it, but sometimes people do point my actions out as a problem. like i’ll start leaving the middle syllables out of words sometimes so i can shorten my sentences and get to the next thought. or i’ll interrupt a word with another thought if i’m talking and then just resume the conversation. i remember once having a conversation regarding a single subject when i kept on getting on wild tangents. when the conversation was finally over we sat in silence. then suddenly remembering, i finished the end of the sentence i began at the start. and the person i’m talking to has no idea what i’m talking about. :P

the thing is, i don’t really notice it unless someone else points it out.

yes, i do try writing, but i find that typing is easier since i type faster than i write. i have an entire journal filled with have started sentences and half-finished entries. i can never seem to stay concentrated long enough to finish an entire thought. i know i can do it if i concentrate very hard, but it’s sometimes hard to do that AND keep the same creativity at the same time. every once in a while i get a great inspiration to stay focused for awhile, but it’s not extremely common.ting, but i find that typing is easier since i type faster than i write. i have an entire journal filled with have started sentences and half-finished entries. i can never seem to stay concentrated long enough to finish an entire thought. i know i can do it if i concentrate very hard, but it’s sometimes hard to do that AND keep the same creativity at the same time. every once in a while i get a great inspiration to stay focused for awhile, but it’s not extremely common.

Hmm, well what do you do, which in this dream state? I mean, do you just sit or stand, have you ever moved about or said anything? Do these halluncinations ever happen in the complany of othrs??

Sorry, lots of questions lol

Its strange about the concentration, does it affect your working much? Like, could you make deadlines on pieces of work, or do you have to wait until a period of time when you can concentrate… Hmm ok that might not make sense…
