I have a big forehead, or atleast bigger than most. My hair has a natural wave/curl, and I usually wear my bangs swept to the side. I have to straighten my bangs or else it just tends to look silly. Sometimes I hate waiting for my hair to dry so I can straighten it, and I’d rather not blow dry it unless I have to. I get tired of wearing my bangs, too. So there are times I’ll just throw the front of my hair into a little poof, but then I feel a bit self-conscious because of my forehead. Is there anything I can do to draw attention away from my forehead other than bangs? Possibly a makeup tip or something?

Thats what Americans call “bangs”

Fact is, I doubt your forehead is as big as you think and even if it is I doubt anyone else sees it as anything abnormal.

If you are self conciouse about it then getting a fringe (bangs) is the only thing, towel dry and then blow dry it roughly all over on a low heat setting and then straighten it.

I know this doesn’t exactly answer your question… but I have naturally curly hair and I use the Remington Wet2Straight flat iron to straighten my hair. You don’t have to wait for your hair to dry, just put your wet hair and 10 sizzles later its straight! haha… it has little holes in it to let the steam out.. might make things easier for you.

Thanks. That’s something I’ll try out. Do you use balm or anything, like to protect your hair before you straighten it?

As for make-up tips… only thing I can think of is to use a little bit of contour at the top of your forehead gradually fading downward, so as to create a shadow at the uppermost parts… then put a bit of highlight at the middle of your forehead.. key here is blending well and not using so much… The contour will give the illusion of shadow making it seem less noticable. I suggest playing around with it at home and asking someones opinion before going out in public, this is something not everyone can do and still make it look natural. My other suggestions, bring attention away from your forehead and to something else so people don’t look at your forehead i.e. wear deeper cut tops, make your eye make-up flashier or pop more, or you can go for a bold red lip… just not all at once! hehe… one or the other preferably. :) Try looking at photos of Tyra Banks… she has a large forehead, see what she does to flaunt and/or hide it! hehe

yes sometimes I use straightening balms, silicone balms, or heat activated sprays… currently still searching for a good one though that won’t weigh down my hair.. or doesn’t seem greasy, but gives me a good shine and control! hehe Any suggestions would be helpful

P.S. you don’t need anything to use with the flat iron, but you probably should if worried about damage.

no problem! good luck and have fun! I personally don’t see a problem with a large forehead, but if you feel self conscious about it I can totally relate. We all have our insecurities… :)
