Maybe they like the way it makes them feel. I don’t know for sure because I have never been drunk.

Cause drinking is a form of escaping reality pretty much.

Not everyone is comfortable sleeping as a group though. You might drink as a group.

Thing is drinking normally lowers ones inhibitions…
So, when this happens, people do things that they normally wouldnt, they get bolder go up and introduce themselves to people and dont mind looking like a fool… generally have alot of stupid fun which they wouldnt have had otherwise
Sometimes they do have a good tim ein this state and they think everytime they drink they will reach this state and they keep trying to drink more hoping to have a good time again…
Thats when it gets out of hand…

I certianly dont endorse drinking,
but as just an explantation of what goes through their minds is…
Well first they loose thir inhibitions so they can do things they wouldnt do in their senses..
second some looneys think having a good cpapcity is manly and something to be proud of…
peer pressure also forces people to drin as well…

Very true… They try to forget reality and go to this euphoria where they are detached from real life. Thats not a really good thing to do.

Its always better to be sane and face reality instead of using a bunch of chemicals to create an illusion. Cowards who can’t face the true situation do it..

People escape at times by drinking because they might need a break from lifes problems and such, but its obviously not healthy.

Well, that’s like saying why do you enjoy chocolate or mcdonalds when you know there’s cholesterol pumping through you’re body and ruining you’re heart? It makes you feel good. As long as it’s not in excess, it’s fun. It makes you bolder, which helps people who are shy and awkward at parties. It’s an ice breaker.

i agree totally on the chocolate part believe me but if my cholestrol goes up and doesnt put myself and others at risk if im so bold to think that i drive better when im drunk then sober. like i dont have a problem if yu drink and you like it and u do it occasionaly. like i dont understand those people who party monday through sunday and then get in a car and kill innocent people.

You’re misinformed, chocolate does not directly affect the dopamine levels in the brain, alcohol does. Social drinking is fine I guess..(I don’t do that either) I still don’t get why people would need some chemical to tweak their sense of boldness or happiness. It just means that they are not comfortable in their own skin.

like it think its like i wanna be cool thing, like hey have a beer (ice breaker), but when your in the real world like what are you gonna do, drink yourself into a coma just because you dont wanna deal with the pressure of finding a new ice breaker or finding something actually in common not the fact that you threw up in the same toilet

Those people are obviously irrational, they’re so drunk that they don’t even think they’re drunk, and in some cases that’s because of alcoholism, and in others it’s because of peer pressure. There are a lot of factors, but drinking isn’t a bad thing as long as you can handle yourself.

No, I was making a comparison. Like chocolate is bad for you in excess, and so is alcohol. It’s true, some people aren’t comfortable in their own skin, myself included, and if you are 100% comfortable with yourself than you should be thanking your lucky stars, because that’s hard for a lot of people. Alcohol is a crutch, but in the awkward ages of meeting new people in college, etc.. it sure does help.

Haha, drinking does not have to lead to puking! If you can handle yourself and drink in moderation than it simply helps people with shyness feel more comfortable about themselve’s So, instead of thinking “What is he thinking? Does my hair look okay? Oh God this dress looks bad. Stand up straight, don’t cross your arms,” You can actually focus on the conversation! I’m not saying it’s an answer to everything, but it’s fun sometimes.

Just throwing it out there…. I’m 14 and I have a friend. In Spanish she was talking to me about how much she likes drinking, like it was know big deal! WTF is up with that? It sickens me that people want to kill themselves and loose brain cells just for a weird feeling and a hangover!

I’ve seen my friends go down that path just to satisfy their peers! When you do it just to gain acceptance into a group of teenagers, its so pathetic and sad. I’ve seen people start with just a beer and end up getting addicted, effectively ruining their lives.

i know like if you look at facebook bumperstickers (ligit i know lol) but 4 out of the 9 stickers on a page are about how like “the only thing a girl should chase is her vodka” or “the only way i remeber my nights its with my camera.”

of course she’ll like it… It leaves you with a feeling of ecstasy! But it takes courage and sense to rather stay sane. BTW, too much alcohol is unhealthy in the long run and also damages your relations.
