Rogers is the worse cell phone provider.

I was with Rogers 8 years ago and I had to cut them off because for an ongoing year, they would over charge me. They even cut off my cell phone once by mistake. I would have to wait long periods of time to get the proper customer service too.

I recently decided to try Rogers again because I really wanted the iphone but because I was traumatized by their disgusting services in the past I called their customer service cost centre to see if they can offer me a better plan for the iphone because being stuck with them for 3 years just to get an iphone is just scary. The iphone plan is just a way for them to trap customers and yes it works because it’s a really attractive phone. So when I called Rogers, the customer service rep actually offered me a great deal, she offered to match my current plan with Telus and to take $10 off the data plan per month. I still had to think about it since I was afraid to go back to Rogers but I really wanted the iphone.

The stupid customer rep offered to call me back with the deal so that I can have time to think and said she could NOT make a file for me with the deal because I was not a Rogers customer. So I waited the following week for her call. She never called. I called Rogers back and they basically said there was no way I could get ANY deal and made me feel like I was a liar and trying to pull a scam.

I had the customer rep’s name but of course they made up excuses and said that person didn’t work in that region and they would send that person an email to find out if such a deal was offered. In the end, the Office of the President got involved and basically thought I was lying because they said there was no proof and to date, that person never emailed them back to confirm if they had offered me the deal. I had the person’s name. I gave the date/time I called. They claim they sometimes record customer calls to maintain quality assurance yet they were very hesitant on investigating further.

I already decided I didn’t want the phone anymore but I was furious that Rogers could be so disgusting. I wasn’t even a client and they were treating me poorly and trying to cover their butts for a mistake they made. The Office of the President said they could not offer me any deal but that only means they think I made the whole thing up which I find offending. Rogers is such a huge company and they’re claiming they can’t do anything? It was obvious they were afraid to investigate further for fear I was telling the truth and god forbid they give me a deal because that would really make them broke right??

Rogers is a company that is out to suck customers in with their phones and they will lock you up in a plan and try to suck as much money out of you as possible. Their customer reps are trained to squirm their way out of resolving issues. Please pass this on to everyone you know that would ever think of signing with Rogers. Trust me, you do not want to sign with a company that treats you like dirt and just wants all your money.
