school help: I need some fund raising ideas. - Help.com

I need some fund raising ideas.

I need as many fun/unusual/hard ways of raising money for charity!

Our school is taking students to India for three weeks next summer to build schooling facilities for deaf children. The trip costs £1500 (really expensive, I know) so I would like to raise as much of that by myself. This is why I would like to raise the money.

By the way, I’m not asking for money from you, just some good methods :)

I’m already thinking of swimming in the sea on Christmas day, that’s how much I want to go!

Ohhh thankies, there are some ideas in there that I like :) Non uniform days though won’t work, the school is pretty strict about things like that.

You could talk to the head of your school, see if you could have a non uniform day, with half of the money going to the school. The other half for the school trip.

I know it’s jsut not going to happen! Two home clothes days a year and no more, loads of people have tried asking the head and it’s always no. I’m seriously in his good books, I just couldn’t risk jarring him off!

Local radio and papers, are always good for helping to raise cash for good causes. They also give good publicity to projects like this one. The local radio might put on some sort of show, at your school, on one of the Saturdays or school holidays.

What would I need to say?
The thing is a lot of peeps at my school are loaded, so the £1500 is just for me to pay for my place on the trip. Everybody else’s parents are just paying for them!
Ohhhh my friends Dad owns the local radio station (actually he’s got 7, but who’s counting!)

Well you phone them first, tell them what’s going on and ask them to help with funding for the school trip.
If you have that friend ask her/his dad, that would help.

Ask local shop for jar of jelly babies. X amount of guess price as to how many jelly babies are in said jar. DANGER>>>>You need to count said jellies but don’t eat any…(hard I know but worth it)
Ask local resturants to donate prize free meal for 2 no drinks included.Give prize as raffle.

you should have a sale on ppl. just get a bunch of ppl who would like to help you fund raise and rent them to ppl in an auction. so lets say you get you dad to help. you auction off him to ppl and who ever bids the most can rent you dad for the day

Slave auctions work a treat at our school! I forgot about them. unfortunately though, Dad decided that it was in his interests to toddle off with his bit of fluff a week before my first GCSE exam. Swine he is.

I like the raffle idea smoogie :)
