Year help: I have a hell of a time growing tomatoes. - Help.com

Editors:

I have a hell of a time growing tomatoes.

They always die off. I used to grow them in a glass house 20 years ago. Is there something wrong with “modern” varieties?
How do I grow tomatoes outdoors?

I bought two plants this year just to see if I could grow them. I filled a planter with soil and mixed in some Sulpher, (they like that) I put the planter on my deck in direct sunlight. Few weeks later we had some tomatoes :-) Next year Ill plant more.
Lots of sun, water every other day,and sulpher. :-)
