I think it is up to the bride and groom as to when they want to do all of those things. Some people do the cake sooner…depending on if it is a meal or just cake….

I think that the daddy dance is pretty early on, probably just after the first dance with the bride and groom.

Also, depending on the time schedule and guests’ other plans, you do not want to do the ‘money dance,’ etc. after guests have already left, so that should also be done early.

Do talk to the bride and groom and ask them for an itenary.

Come up with one and then ask them if it works OK for them. Have the ‘events’ take place in the early part of the wedding. Will there be a full meal? If so, have the cake a bit later so people can digest their food. I would recommend that you do the bride/groom dance right away and then come up with some cute, funny, romantic…whatever the mood….comment and introduce the daddy/bride dance.

Then do the money dance after another 1/2 hour. Then do the garter and cake a half hour later. Spread things out just a bit….but not so much that people leave before they get to participate in the ‘events’ because they will want to take pictures, etc.
