state help: When Wall Street woke up Monday morning, two more of its storied firms had fallen. - Help.com

When Wall Street woke up Monday morning, two more of its storied firms had fallen.

Lehman Brothers, burdened by $60 billion in soured real-estate holdings, filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in U.S. Bankruptcy Court after attempts to rescue the 158-year-old firm failed. Bank of America Corp. said it is snapping up Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. in a $50 billion all-stock transaction.

What does this mean for the United States of America and its people?!

And it’s not over yet, AIG is getting a loan from the gov’t to keep itself from collapsing as well. The stock market took a MAJOR dive and effected people’s retirements (my 401K lost 129$ yesterday alone :{ ) Plus the supposed Home Laws that are gonna pass Oct. 1st, which really isn’t going to help 80% of the people who really need the help to keep their homes.

I don’t think we’ve seen the worst of things yet. As the American eco fails, so will other countries that are tied/relied on us. And it’s the beginning of the “shopping” season. Things will continue to go down for a bit, it’s not over yet.

True true.

The markets are crumbling.
Now that the shopping season is around the corner, the retail indusrty will be effected big time. It looks like Santa won’t be stopping here this year.
