life as a mexican

most of the day i recieve racist jokes
“go back to mexico”
“mow my lawn”
“how high can you jump, must’ve been high to jump the border”

honestly, i have no idea how to deal with it anymore. im in a school with all white kids (no offense) and no other hispanics in it at all. im in the highest phase of spanish and i know more than my teacher does. i honestly think that mexicans are the new “black” (again, no offense) people. everytime i defend myself they always come back at me. So i beat up this kid who does most of the teasing and he still wants to **** with me.

WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!

Why do you feel the need to beat up on that poor ignorant a**wipe who insulted you?

Ignore them. Ignorant is as ignorant does!

In my experience the more you let them know it bothers you, the more they will do it. Its really hard, but try to ignore it, or come back with some quick wit of your own. Mind you this could put you in another situation too, as a lot of people can give it, but not take it. :-)

I dont know what to tell you because i was never in that situation. Im black and no one has been offensive to me as of yet. Although i have seen a bit of prejudice ppl never racist.

I dislike ignorant ppl!! I wanted to say hate but hate is such a strong word and i would be just like them….

What great advice.
Nobody gets through school without encountering some bullies. In your case the bullies are racists, but other students are given grief about how they look, or speak, or any other difference the bullies detect. You can overcome all of the nonsense by getting the education you are seeking and moving on with your life. Be serious about your studies. You will leave your tormentors behind in the dust.

I’m really sorry you’re having to deal with this ignorance. I’m not sure beating one of your tormentors up was going to help, but it sure may get you in trouble at school. Do you have friends at the school? If so, just hang with them and enjoy their company and ignore the idiot

I ignored endless torment form classmates my entire school career and it ruined me. The day I started fighting back felt so good. Just don’t get too involved with getting revenge is all but don’t walk away when you know it’ll eat away at you. Try making comebacks that are really true like pointing out how racist and cowardly they are. Half the time since bullies are cowards beatings do help but it can exacerbate things too. What really help is having really close friends who make your self esteem higher and it also really helps when their around at a time like that and they might stand up for you or empathize …just the presence of someone who actually cares about me and knows me really helps.
Everyone says that if they know it gets to you they keep doing it but for me not doing anything mad it worse because the fact that they thought they weren’t getting to me made them try harder and be more persistent. wow, really long comment, lol.
