i think my boyfriend is bipolar he has really dramtic

mood swing but he’s afriad to go help.im trying to convince him to go talk to some one but so far nothing has worked has anyone ever had to deal with anything like this before if so how did you handle it?

My sister is bipolar and I think my BF’s brother is as well. It’s hard to deal with it, harder to make them realize something may be wrong with them. Best I can offer is sit down and talk with them, offer that something is wrong and see if they are atleast willing to accept your help first. Getting to admit there is something wrong is the first step.

he knows that somethings wrong he just think that if he goes and gets help they will put him in a mental instution cuz he is haveing “bad” thoughts(he won’t tell what there about though

they won’t look him away for thoughts, unless he plans on acting on the thoughts. Trust me, they would have looked me away the first I time talked to a doctor if they did. Just talk with him and try to convince him that if he knows he needs help, then he should work toward it, before things get worse.

Not to scare him, but if it gets too bad (Want to hurt others or himself drastically), they may lock him away for safety.

okay.i will talk to him cuz thats what he is afaid of and i know he won’t react on them and i just needed a piece of mind that they won’t take him if we go and talk to some one
